Mopane worms are delicacies in some parts of Southern Africa, this delicacy is mostly cooked in the rural areas. Mopane worms are also a great source of protein. Here’s a recipe below if you’d like to try them out.
200g Mopane worms
1 cup boiling water
1/2 chopped onion
1 chopped tomato
Salt and pepper for taste
Start off by soaking your worms in boiling water for 1 and a half or 2 hours. Once they are done soaking, drain the excess water. In a large sauce pan, add the cooking oil and fry the worms for 15 mins on medium to low heat. Add the onion and fry till the onions are cooked through and soft. Add your chopped tomato with salt and pepper. Fry everything together and let it cook for another 20 mins.
